Sharyn Kastelic is a serious design professional who starts each decorating project with a single goal in mind – to supercede client expectations. “Getting to know my clients is always the first step. Once I find out what they want, I develop a plan that incorporates all of my client requirements, in ways that are both functional and stylish. Then I try to go a little bit further. If I can’t design something my client’s wouldn’t have thought of on their own, then I’m not succeeding as a designer.”

As an active member of the Canadian Decorators’ Association (CDECA), Sharyn has participated in numerous trade shows by doing both the set décor for vignettes and the “Ask a Decorator” program, where the public is invited to bring their design dilemmas for a 15-minute “on-the-spot” consultation. “I always enjoy doing the shows because you meet so many new people and you have to think fast so it’s a good way to stay on your toes.”

After graduating with Honours from Humber College as a Certified Interior Decorator, Sharyn established her own firm, Primed By Design, which was incorporated in 2004.

Sharyn has an Honours B.A. from U.of T.; and has worked for an architectural/landscape architectural firm, and a decorating/design firm.
