A new countertops showroom opened recently in Toronto: Cosentino. They are known mostly as the makers of Silestone quartz (the first countertop with bacteriostatic protection) used for kitchen and bathroom countertops. But they have some new lines that are simply amazing and the uses are limitless.
1. Imagine seeing Carnelian or Amethyst “gemstone” slabs backlit as a kitchen island countertop or special feature wall panel.
2. “Dekton” is a new ultracompact surface by Cosentino that “…is a sophisticated blend of the raw materials used to produce the very latest in glass and porcelain as well as the highest quality quartz surfaces.” It has a very unique matte surface (that doesn’t show fingerprints!)
And for all you techies, “Dekton employs exclusive Sinterized Particle Technology (TSP), a high tech process which represents an accelerated version of the metamorphic change that natural stone undergoes when subjected to high temperatures and pressure over thousands of years.
3. ECO by Cosentino® is another new product that embraces sustainability, design and quality that has produced a new category of recycled surfaces. It is made of 75% recycled glass, porcelain, mirror, earthenware and vitrified ash.
Congratulations Cosentino of Spain!
