The owners of this 1959 ranch bungalow wanted a complete renovation of the original kitchen including removal of a load-bearing wall between the kitchen and dining room. The wish list included insulating the chilly kitchen, adding an island with extra sink and bar seating for guests.
Design Features
This fabulous new kitchen features quartz countertops, back-painted glass backsplash, stainless steel trim and cabinet pulls, new appliances, dark stained maple cabinetry, and hardwood floors. The design is very contemporary, clean, and straight-forward.
The side door was stained to match the cabinets. Frosted window film was then added for privacy as well as new stainless steel door hardware.
The hardwood floors are seamless from the kitchen at the front, to the living room at the back and this creates a wonderful flow.
The best thing about this renovation is the feeling of space. And with light from two large south-facing kitchen windows, the dining room is a much more inviting space. |
